You know what pisses me off?

Tags: Who invented these things?

I love my kids more than myself, but I'd like to get my hands on the person who invented the phrase, the idea of "empty nest". My younger son went off to college last year and I've never had a more creative or productive time, written three novels and felt free and unstressed. This "empty nest" idea that I should be sad and unable to find a way to amuse myself is utter garbage. Cheers for empty nest!

And I thought I was the only one glad I had more free time! My daughter is married and moved out but my son is still here but at 22, he keeps to himself. I only ever see him when he comes down to eat. He does his own laundry even, so it's 'almost' like he's gone too. I LOVE having my days free. Enjoy your empty nest! It'll be full soon with grandbabies screaming through the halls. Mine is on occasion. hehe
